Growers often operate farmland in various states, where they may farm in NY/NJ/PA in the summer and move up and down the coast to continue their farming efforts after the local season concludes. Migratory farms is a way to help stabilize their business, keeps farmers working year-round, and provides fresh produce to the surrounding east coast states in these colder winter months. Last year was a rough one for our local farmers who battled excessive rain and high heat, and the greenhouse guys are taking it on the chin with our recent cold snaps. Working with the snow birds helps us keep you stocked with fresh produce.
We’ve reached out down south to bring you organically grown Tuscan kale and green zucchini this week from L&M Farms.
